The Physics Department at the University of Tabuk in Saudi Arabia, seeks applicants for multiple faculty positions. University of Tabuk is a new government university which had its ground breaking in 2006. It aspires to be a premier research institution in the middle-east. Faculty positions are open at the Assistant, Associate and Full Professor levels and commence in September 2012. At the time of appointment, candidates must have an earned doctorate in Physics or a related field. Specific duties include the development of internationally recognized research programs, and undergraduate/graduate teaching and advisement, and service activities. Applications are invited for all fields of physics, however applicants in the following fields will be given priority: medical physics, particle physics and nanotechnology measurement techniques and multi-scale modeling. Physicists who are willing to work on developing a radiation detector and who has considerable experience in particle physics detection with a plus on SiPM detectors, medical physicists who have experience in medical imaging techniques (such as PET, CT, X-Ray and others) and/or radiotherapy will be given priority. University of Tabuk already has in place research agreements with CERN, premier research universities in the USA, China and Europe.

Review of applications will begin immediately and selected candidates will be interviewed online. Salary scale is for Assistant Professors 13,000-15,800 Saudi Riyal (SAR), for Associate Professors 17,000-19,400 SAR and for full-Professors 20,800-23,300 SAR per month. There is an additional up to 25,000 SAR annual tuition allowance for children’s education and one time 12,000 SAR furniture allowance. Faculty members can also earn an additional two months' of base salary for eligible funded research activities. Free round-trip air-ticket is provided annually to the employees and for up to three of their dependents from Tabuk to their point of origin. Saudi Arabia is tax-free country. Preceding salary amounts are take-home pay. Faculty members also get 2 months of paid summer vacation. Approximately 3.75 Saudi Riyals are 1 USD. Language of instructions at Tabuk University is English.
