Tenure-track Assistant Professor of Chemistry or Physics
The Departments of Chemistry and Physics at Boston University, in collaboration with the Division of Materials Science and Engineering, invite applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor of Chemistry or Physics to begin July 1, 2017, pending budgetary approval. We seek an outstanding junior faculty member with experimental research interests supporting the University’s expansion in the science and application of materials, broadly construed. Possible specialties include, but are not limited to, quantum materials, matter-light interactions including ultrafast processes and advanced imaging, quantum coherent systems, bio-sensing, energy/sustainability, nano- and metamaterials, soft materials/polymers, strongly correlated electronic materials, and non-equilibrium systems. Depending on research area and interests, the successful applicant will be appointed in either Physics or Chemistry, or jointly between the two departments. The successful candidate will have a Ph.D. degree or equivalent, and is expected to establish an outstanding research program, and to be an effective teacher and mentor in relevant undergraduate and graduate instructional programs.
