Tenure-track Associate Professor/Assistant Professor in Space Science (Ref.: 201601063)
Applications are invited for tenure-track appointment as Associate Professor/Assistant Professor in the Department of Earth Sciences, to commence on March 1, 2017 or as soon as possible thereafter. The appointee will be a member of the Laboratory for Space Research. The post is a tenure-track position that will initially be made on a three-year fixed-term basis and with consideration for tenure during the second three-year appointment.
Appointee is expected to work in the general subject of space science, with research experience in one or more of the following areas: (1) space-based remote sensing of the Earth; (2) atmospheric science, magnetosphere, near Earth environment, and the interaction between the solar wind and the Earth; and (3) planetary science and study of solar system objects. Candidates with a demonstrated research record and a strong commitment to teaching are encouraged to apply. The University is a completely English-speaking University and all courses are conducted in English.
A globally competitive remuneration package commensurate with qualifications and experience will be offered. At current rates, salaries tax does not exceed 15% of gross income. The appointment will attract a contract-end gratuity and University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme, totalling up to 15% of basic salary, as well as annual leave, and medical benefits. Housing benefits will be provided as applicable.
