The American Institute of Physics (AIP) is seeking a full-time Manager of Member Society Programs and Communications to interact with the Member Societies across the federation and throughout the Institute. The Manager will advance AIP's relationships with the Member Societies through written communications and face-to-face interactions, as well as increase the frequency and consistency by which AIP communicates with its Member Society volunteers on committees throughout AIP. The Manager will be responsible for implementing a means for tracking the Member Society customer relationship to encompass the services rendered by AIP, monitoring required follow-up, and tracking volunteer involvement. Other job duties include enhancing Member Society knowledge of AIP programs and staff knowledge of Member Society programs, coordinating AIP staff attendance at Member Society conferences, coordinating meetings and events to maximize interactions and overall experience, writing regular AIP news columns for Member Society publications, and assuring a high-level of awareness about AIP Member Societies' mission, activities, challenges, etc., across the Institute.
A Bachelor’s degree in Customer Relations, Communications, Marketing, or Business or a Bachelor’s degree in the physical sciences with subsequent education/experience is required. 5 years of relevant experience in some combination of program management, project management, customer relations, marketing and business development. Excellent written and verbal skills. Experience with CRM. Experience in the not-for-profit sector desirable. Demonstrable record of career success and advancement.
