The Physics Department at the University of Arizona is seeking outstanding candidates for a tenure-track assistant professor position in experimental atomic, molecular and optical (AMO), starting in the Fall of 2017. Appointment at a senior rank may be considered for an exceptional candidate. We encourage applications from researchers whose work will complement or strengthen current efforts at the University of Arizona and benefit from the strong ties that exist between the Departments of Physics, Chemistry, Materials Science and the College of Optical Sciences. Areas of interest include but are not limited to attosecond science, quantum optics, atom interferometry, precision measurements, strong-field physics, ultrafast dynamics in molecules and nanomaterials, light-matter interaction in new spectral and temporal regimes, and innovative approaches for spectroscopy, imaging, and control. Successful candidates are expected to set up a world class research program and demonstrate strong commitment to teaching. Review of applications will begin on November 21, 2016 and continue until the position is filled. All applications, including a cover letter, full CV with list of publications, research and teaching statements should be sent as a single PDF file to Professor Arvinder Sandhu, search committee chair, firstname.lastname@example.org. Please arrange to have 3 letters of recommendation sent separately to Prof. Sandhu. Applicants should also be aware of a separate faculty search in Experimental Optical Physics at the College of Optical Sciences at the University of Arizona.
