The Physics Department at the University of California, Santa Cruz invites applications for a tenure track position in theoretical materials physics at the assistant professor level. The successful candidate will be expected to participate in a new campuswide, interdisciplinary materials science program, to pursue a vigorous research program, to teach courses and mentor students at the undergraduate and graduate levels, and to perform service to the department and university.
Basic qualifications: a Ph.D. or equivalent foreign degree in physics or a closely related discipline, a demonstrated record of research, and a record of publications in the fields of theoretical materials physics and theoretical condensed-matter physics.
Additional Salary Information: Commensurate with qualifications and experience; academic (9-month) basis.
