The Department of Physics at The University of Texas at El Paso (UTEP) invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor position in computational physics. Preferred research areas include but are not limited to biophysics, cell biology, biomedical sciences, and materials science. Outstanding candidates in other related areas will also be considered. The successful candidate is expected to establish an independent, externally funded research program; work closely with the Border Biomedical Research Center at UTEP; mentor students and teach both undergraduate and graduate level courses in Physics; and engage in outreach and service activities. The UTEP Physics faculty contributes to various interdisciplinary Ph.D. programs, including Computational Science and Materials Science and Engineering. Applicants should hold a Ph.D. in Physics or a closely related discipline, possess postdoctoral experience, and have a strong record of research accomplishments.
