Astronomy and Space Science, Physics: Cosmology, Physics: High Energy
Applications are invited for a Prize Postdoctoral Position in the Joint Space-Science Institute (JSI) at the University of Maryland (UMd), College Park. JSI is a research partnership between UMd-Astronomy, UMd-Physics, and NASA-Goddard created in 2010 to foster interdisciplinary collaborations. Current areas of interest to JSI include strong gravity, gravitational waves, black holes, high-energy and plasma astrophysics, particle astrophysics, and cosmology. The successful candidate must have a Ph.D. in Physics, Astronomy or a related field by the start date of the position. The appointment will be for two years and will start Fall 2017.
Applications should be submitted through Academic Jobs Onlinehttps://academicjobsonline.org/ajo/jobs/8266. For best consideration upload a CV, bibliography, and statement of research interests/accomplishments by December 15, 2016. The Joint Space-Science Institute is a research partnership between the Astronomy and Physics departments at University of Maryland (UMD) and NASA Goddard Space Flight Center. It was created in 2010 to foster interdisciplinary collaborations between astronomers, physicist and astrophysicists in fields related to the study of strong gravity in black holes, high-energy astrophysics and astroparticle... physics, cosmology and gravitational waves. JSI is located on UMD's College Park campus. The university is located in the Washington D.C. metropolitan area and has convenient access to NASA-Goddard and other major scientific institutions.
