Assistant/Associate Professors of Digital Forensics and Cybersecurity
Champlain College invites applications for two positions in the Division of Information Technology & Science. These positions serve the Digital Forensics and the Networking and Cybersecurity undergraduate programs. The expected start date is August 2017 but January 2017 appointments will be considered for well-qualified applicants. New hires are normally made at the rank of Assistant Professor but highly qualified candidates may be hired at the rank of Associate Professor.
Primary responsibilities include in-class instruction in Security, Networking, and/or Forensics. Potential topic areas include Network Security, Defense-in-Depth, Information Assurance, Digital Forensics, Cybercrime Investigations, Forensics Tools, e-Discovery, File-Systems Forensics, Mobile Device Forensics, Incident Response, Computer Networking, Systems Administration, Network Infrastructure, and Data Communications. Small class sizes optimize instructor-student interaction; hands-on activities translate theory into practice. Because the College is entrepreneurial and market driven, academic programs respond to industry dynamics. Consequently, the College values current industry and other “real world” experience for its faculty and students.
The typical teaching load is four courses per semester. While there is no research requirement for retention, ongoing professional activity/development is strongly encouraged and supported. Out-of-classroom responsibilities include course/curriculum development, student advising, industry outreach, student team/project/club supervision, and service to the department, division and college.
