The Blackett Laboratory, Department of Physics, wishes to appoint four new academic staff, including a Lecturer in Theoretical Condensed Matter Physics. Applicants with a strong background in the area of condensed matter physics are invited to apply.
The appointee will be affiliated to the Condensed Matter Physics Section of the Department and be part of the Condensed Matter Theory Group. The Condensed Matter Physics Section comprises 25 academic staff with expertise in the following areas: classical and quantum nanotechnology and nanophotonics; materials for energy applications, with particular strength in photovoltaics; plasmonics and metamaterials; the physics of organic and hybrid semiconductors and their applications; materials theory and simulation; superconductivity; complexity; magnetism; and strongly-correlated systems. The successful applicant will complement or enhance and expand the research interests of the sections.
