EDUCATION DESIRED: Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, electronics engineering or related discipline.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: Conduct rapid prototyping and engineering development for MEMS sensors and frequency control devices. Work with members of the technical staff to perform process development experiments and sustain existing fabrication runs. Conduct in-process wafer inspections, generate metrology results and provide timely feedback to project leaders. Carry out both wafer-level and die-level packaging of fabricated devices and conduct electrical characterizations. Integrate sensing elements with chip scale and printed circuit board (PCB) electronics for system level applications.
EXPERIENCE DESIRED: Hands-on semiconductor/MEMS microfabrication experience is desired. Must be able to perform photolithography, thin film deposition, etch and process metrology in a class 10 cleanroom environment. Prior experience with mask aligners, wafer bonders, projection steppers, CVD, PVD, plasma dry etchers and profilometers is desired. Knowledge of design of experiment (DOE) methodology and statistical data analysis is a plus. Past experience in using electronic test equipment including oscilloscopes, signal generators, data acquisition systems in conjunction with MEMS devices is highly desired.
KNOWLEDGE DESIRED: In-depth knowledge of MEMS and semiconductor device microfabrication is necessary. Working knowledge of semiconductor processing equipment and metrology tools is desired. Knowledge of sensor interface electronics, computer programming skills, experience with CAD tools for device and printed circuit board layout are a plus.
ESSENTIAL PHYSICAL/MENTAL REQUIREMENTS: Must be able to work in a class 10 cleanroom environment. Requires good laboratory practice and safe handling of chemicals and equipment.
