The Washington University Department of Radiation Oncology is seeking a postdoctoral research associate to work in the Advanced X-ray Imaging Laboratory (AXIL) on developing innovative x-ray sources and CT techniques. The candidates will have a unique opportunity to collaborate with a diverse group of multidisciplinary researchers from the Department of Physics, Institute of Material Science and Engineering, Department of Biomedical Engineering and the Department of Radiation Oncology in the School of Medicine at Washington University in St. Louis.
Candidates must have a PhD in Medical Physics, Experimental Physics, Biomedical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Applied Physics or other closely related areas. It is essential for the candidates to have knowledge of radiation detection and familiar with electronic instrumentation and data acquisition and processing. Research experience (academic or industry) in developing x-ray imaging techniques, radiation detector, vacuum system, and/or image-guided radiotherapy is highly desired. The candidates must have demonstrated the ability to perform experimental work, draft manuscripts, and work independently and collaboratively.
The position is available immediately and initial appointment of the job is for one year, with possibility for renewal up to three years, based on performance and continued receipt of grant/research funding.
