AstroCamp Virginia is a new STEM based outdoor education program located on a 407 acre property consisting of rolling hills, a 15 acre lake, miles of on and off-road track, and state of the art classrooms. The curriculum focus on hands on exploration of astronomy and physical science during 3 to 5 day overnight trips. In addition, schools will have the opportunity to integrate Motorsports into their already exciting hands on STEM programs.
We are looking for our first group of Program Instructors to teach our students about the world around them this summer. Classes include building rockets, electricity and magnetism, and sky viewing using a variety of telescopes. As part of being the pioneering group, you will help setup the facility and contribute to the reputation of the program. Applicants for these positions should be excited, creative, and hard working individuals willing to do any tasks necessary to get job done.
Compensation: Paid training, full room and board, $60.00 dollars per day (starting salary for BS and BA degree, regularly increased), health benefits after 60 days of employment. Program equipment such as telescopes and kayaks are available for staff during their time off after the appropriate training.
Minimum BS or BA degree in Physics, Astronomy or related Science Preferred
Must be be able to pass the American Red Cross Waterfront Lifeguarding Course (Training to be provided onsite).
Teaching experience with youth highly desired
Flexibility and ability to work with others as a team and live in a rural setting essential.
Available from June 20th to August 14th.

AstroCamp Virginia is a science and adventure summer camp located in Clover, Virginia. Campers come each summer to make memories, have fun, and get hands on science and astronomy training while participating in a variety of activities from the scientific to the fun! AstroCamp is a STEM program that pushes campers to deepen their science understanding by participating in space explorations, playing... in our state-of-the-art labs, build and launch rockets, and have time nearly every night to use our large array of telescopes to explore the night skies. We are part of a larger family of camps in California but will be starting our first summer in Virginia this year.
