Job Responsibilities: Postdoctoral Researcher/Senior Postdoctoral Researcher: The primary responsibilities will be the synthesis of single crystal and polycrystalline materials, characterization of these samples with laboratory based techniques in preparation for neutron scattering investigations, as well as carrying out neutron scattering investigations. Postdoctoral Researcher: 100% effort - The primary responsibilities will be the synthesis of single crystal and polycrystalline materials, characterization of these samples with laboratory based techniques in preparation for neutron scattering investigations, as well as carrying out neutron scattering investigations. Responsibilities will include participating in the training of graduate students, single crystal and polycrystalline synthesis, magnetic, thermodynamic, and charge carrier transport measurements, elastic and inelastic neutron scattering measurements, data analysis, presenting of results at conferences and meetings, and publication are expected activities. Minimum Qualifications: Postdoctoral Researcher: Ph.D. in Physics or related field (ABD candidates will be considered); Senior Postdoctoral Researcher: Ph.D. in Physics or related field plus three years of related postgraduate experience. Preferred Qualifications: Postdoctoral Researcher: two years of experience with expertise in one or more of the following areas: synthesis, lab characterization and neutron scattering; Senior Postdoctoral Researcher: three years of experience with expertise in one or more of the following areas: synthesis, lab characterization and neutron scattering. Special or Physical Qualifications: Must be willing to travel. Some national and international travel may be required. Additional Position Information: Background Check - An offer of employment is contingent on a satisfactory pre-employment background check. The position is expected to be open after May 1, 2018 for an initial one-year appointment with the option to be renewed for a second year. Salary and level will be dependent upon candidate's qualifications.
