Education & Diversity Summer Intern
American Physical Society
The American Physical Society (APS), the world’s leading association of physicists, is offering a full-time Education & Diversity Summer Intern position starting June 2018 (the specific starting date is negotiable). This position will be a 10-week, full-time, paid position, based at APS Headquarters in College Park, MD. Specific tasks may include updating national physics education statistics webpages, including detailed analysis and documentation of the data, as well as compiling induction information for the APS Bridge Program. Additional tasks may involve developing materials to publicize department programs, such as written articles, brochures, or videos. Other duties may be assigned. Must be a college student or have a college degree, preferably in physics or a physics-related major. Must have good writing skills and be proficient in MS Word and Excel. Experience in Visual Basic for Applications (VBA) is desired. The intern will work a total of 10 weeks during the summer of 2018. The work schedule will coincide with normal APS hours, mutually agreed upon with the intern’s supervisor. The internship will be paid work on an hourly basis.
