The Department of Physics at Saint Anselm College invites applications for a three-year visiting faculty position to begin August 2020. We seek an energetic individual with the ability to teach across the physics curriculum and with a strong commitment to actively involving undergraduates in research.
The department seeks candidates who, through their work and life experiences, service to the community, and teaching or research, can contribute to an inclusive environment of equity and diversity. Candidates with experience in or a desire to teach and mentor students from diverse backgrounds are especially invited to apply.
The department currently has four full-time faculty members and approximately thirty students. Active areas of research in the department include astronomy and astrophysics, geographic information systems, the philosophy and foundations of physics, physical models of consciousness, quantum information, quantum optics, and science education. In addition to teaching labs, the department has a state-of-the-art quantum optics lab, a brand-new GIS/computational modeling lab, an observatory, and a 3-D printer.

Required Skills: A Ph.D. in Physics or a related field is required. Candidates should demonstrate a strong commitment to excellence in teaching at the undergraduate level as well as scholarly research.
Required Experience: Teaching experience at the undergraduate level is preferred.
