The Physics Department at Juniata College invites applications for two positions: a continuing fixed-term assistant professor for up to 3 years, subject to annual renewal, and a sabbatical replacement assistant professor for 1 year. We are seeking candidates vitally interested in teaching undergraduate physics who can contribute to our introductory laboratory program and share in the teaching of the lab courses. Responsibilities will include directing and teaching introductory physics and environmental physics laboratories, advising undergraduate majors and non-majors, and teaching introductory and upper-level physics or engineering mechanics courses as needed.
Juniata College is a selective liberal arts college of 1500 students located in Huntingdon, PA. In addition to supporting approximately 50 Physics and Engineering Physics majors and graduating an average of 10 students per year, the Physics Department offers introductory courses and labs that enroll over 120 Biology, Chemistry, and Environmental Science student each academic year.

A Ph.D. or ABD in physics or a related field is preferred. Although teaching is the primary responsibility of this position, opportunities for research collaborations with current faculty in astronomy, optics, or nuclear detection are available.
