Research Scientist
University of Missouri
The University of Missouri Research Reactor Center (MURR) invites applications for a Research Scientist position. MURR is the largest neutron source (10 MW) on a U.S. campus and is well-suited for neutron scattering research. The Neutron Scattering group at MURR currently operates four instruments for structure and dynamics studies of matter: a triple-axis spectrometer, a reflectometer, and two powder diffractometers. MURR employs approximately 200 people, where neutron scattering is one of five major research programs. Primary responsibilities The successful candidate is expected to contribute to existing neutron scattering research projects as well as initiate projects that will lead to external funding. It is expected that the successful candidate will become the primary instrument responsible for the high-resolution neutron powder diffractometer, which has been newly upgraded.
