Assistant Professor - Theoretical Quantum Condensed Matter Physics

The Columbia University Department of Physics seeks to appoint an assistant professor in the area of theoretical quantum condensed matter physics. It is expected that the candidate will develop a vigorous independent research program, continuing the long Columbia record of forefront accomplishment in science. Applicants for this position must possess a doctoral degree in Physics or a related field and have demonstrated the ability to do pioneering theoretical research as well as the promise of excellence in teaching and mentoring at both the undergraduate and graduate levels. Candidates should submit with their application a cover letter, Curriculum Vitae (including publication list), brief statements of their research plans and teaching philosophy and a list of references. This position in Theoretical Physics is funded in part by the Simons Foundation Junior Faculty Fellows Program and has a start date of July 1, 2021. Review of applications and scheduling of interviews will begin January 6, 2021 and will continue until the position is filled.
