The stored ion and bio-optics research group at Texas A&M University has an opening for a postdoctoral experimentalist to lead and further expand our collinear fast beam laser spectroscopy program for trace detection of isotopes. This postdoc will also be involved in attosecond research with intense laser fields, ion storage, and frequency comb spectroscopies. The research is based at Texas A&M University in College Station, Texas, but may involve visits to a collaborating US National Laboratory (For this, US citizenship is required.) and international research facilities producing short-lived nuclei. The successful candidate is expected to lead the collinear fast beam laser spectroscopy research assisted by graduate and undergraduate students. Topics within this research comprise nuclear physics, nonlinear optics, and remote sensing. See http://sibor.physics.tamu.edu for more information. Applicants should hold a recent PhD in physics and have graduate experience in one or more of these areas: Ultra-high vacuum, high-voltage applications, mode-locked laser systems, computer interfacing. The start date is immediate, but applications will be accepted until the position is filled .Salary will be commensurate, and benefits include health insurance, retirement contributions, paid holidays, paid vacation time, and paid sick leave. Optional benefits include additional insurance and flexible spending accounts. Information on benefits is available at https://employees.tamu.edu/benefits/.
