Summary: The American Institute of Physics is seeking a dependable, forward-thinking, and detailed orientated Education Programs Assistant to join the Society of Physics Students (SPS) and Sigma Pi Sigma, the physics honors society. This part-time position is ideal for someone interested in exploring the career fields of science, education, or communication. The assistant will work under the supervision of the SPS Assistant Director and will be responsible for supporting SPS and Sigma Pi Sigma. Sigma Pi Sigma and SPS are chapter-based societies that support the physics and astronomy higher education community, with a focus on undergraduate students and physics faculty. Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
*If a candidate has experience with writing for an undergraduate audience, they could potentially make contributions to the SPS Observer. *This role is currently 100% remote and will eventually switch back to our office environment as the Institute continues to respond to the coronavirus, government mandates and considers the best action to keep the AIP staff safe.
