Senior Polymer/Soft Matter Chemist - Senior R&D Staff

Overview: We are seeking a Senior Polymer/Soft Matter Chemist who will focus on polymer/soft matter synthesis realted to fundamental and applied research on novel functional polymer-based materials. This position resides in the Soft Matter and Membranes Group in the Separation and Polymer Chemistry Section of the Chemical Sciences Division (CSD), Physical Sciences Directorate (PSD) at Oak Ridge National Laboratory (ORNL).
As part of our research team, you will be focused on leading synthetic efforts in fundamental and applied research related to variety of polymer/soft matter based projects. They include synthesis of novel functional polymer based materials with dynamic bonds, polymer upcycling, polymer electrolytes and membranes for gas separation, polymer nanocomposites and polymers for additive manufacturing. The candidate is expected to lead research of several postdocs and students, to develop his/her own program, and to raise significant funding to support his/her team. The candidate is also expected to be involved with other projects in the Soft Matter and Membranes group.
