VISITING ASSISTANT PROFESSOR POSITIONS IN PHYSICS THE W.M. KECK SCIENCE DEPARTMENT OF CLAREMONT McKENNA, PITZER AND SCRIPPS COLLEGES The W.M. Keck Science Department (www.kecksci.claremont.edu) of Claremont McKenna, Pitzer, and Scripps Colleges (three of the five undergraduate Claremont Colleges) seeks to hire two visiting professors in physics beginning July 1, 2021. These positions are full-time and are one-year appointments with the potential for renewal. Our interdisciplinary department comprises biology, chemistry, physics, neuroscience, and environmental analysis faculty. The physics discipline oversees an active pre-engineering program. We seek exceptional individuals with demonstrated excellence in teaching and scholarship. Candidates must have a Ph.D. in physics or an engineering-related field and be able to teach a range of entry-level and upper-division physics courses. For one of the positions, the candidate must be able to teach an introductory astronomy course for non-science majors. Preference will be given to candidates with prior teaching experience who are enthusiastic about supervising independent research projects for undergraduates.
