About University of Richmond
The University of Richmond is a highly selective, private, primarily undergraduate institution with an undergraduate enrollment of about 3,000 students. The University is ideally situated in the Richmond metropolitan area, which has a population of over 1.2 million people, a robust art, theater, and restaurant scene, and the extensive James River park system. The UR Physics department is one of the AIP top undergraduate physics departments, graduating 10-15 majors per year, and currently has seven faculty all of whom are active in research with students in astrophysics, biophysics, nuclear physics, and condensed matter physics.  Available facilities include an atomic force microscope, a scanning tunneling microscope, a supercomputing cluster, a rooftop teaching and outreach observatory, and other specialized equipment.
