NOTE: This is a two-year term appointment with the possibility of extension to a maximum of three years.

We are seeking a Postdoctoral Researcher to work in the area of musculoskeletal biology. You will actively study the effect of trauma on bones and joints, with the aim of identifying therapeutic approaches that prevent the development of post traumatic osteoarthritis. This position is in the Human and Health Sciences group in the Biosciences and Biotechnology Division.

In this role you will

• Conduct research in the field of musculoskeletal biology, exploring biomechanics of bone and cartilage, characterizing the molecular changes (transcriptional/proteomic) of the injured joint to understand how post-traumatic osteoarthritis develops.
• Design, implement, and analyze experiments for the characterization of bone-cartilage interaction, use spatial transcriptomics/proteomics to quantify cartilage and bone metabolism and turnover.
• Evaluate potential cell based and pharmaceutical therapies for the prevention of post traumatic osteoarthritis.
• Organize, analyze, and present data from research at seminars, technical meetings, national and international conferences.
• Contribute to and actively participate in the conception, design, and execution of research to address defined problems.
• Pursue independent (but complementary) research interests and interact with a broad spectrum of scientists internally and externally to the Laboratory.
• Collaborate with others in a multidisciplinary team environment and other national laboratories and industry to accomplish research goals.
• Publish research results in peer-reviewed scientific or technical journals and present results at external conferences seminars and/or technical meetings.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
