The American Physical Society is conducting an international search for a new Lead Editor of Physical Review B (PRB).
The Lead Editor will provide leadership and vision regarding editorial standards, scope, and policies of the journal, and serves as the journals lead spokesperson. PRB is the world’s largest dedicated physics journal covering condensed matter and materials physics.
The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications: stature in a field of research within the scope of PRB; stature in the PRB author and referee community; editorial service with scholarly journals; management experience; ability to work effectively with an international array of authors, referees, and editors and with the APS; and the advocacy skills, integrity, and wisdom to lead the journal in responding to publication matters and issues important to all communities served by the journal.
The Lead Editor may maintain their present position and location while devoting 10% to 20% of their time to this position. The initial appointment is for a three-year term with renewal possible after review. Compensation is negotiable and dependent on established time commitment. The desired starting date is 1 October 2022, but other arrangements can be made.
