- Ability to secure and maintain a U.S. DOE Q-level security clearance, which requires U.S. Citizenship.
- PhD in Physics, Nuclear Engineering, or related field or the equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
- Ability to perform independent research in experimental science and to find innovative solutions to scientific and technical problems.
- Significant experience with photon and neutron transport in matter, detection instrumentation, neutron noise analysis and/or nuclear reactor dynamics.
- Advanced knowledge in Python and object-oriented programing.
- Familiarity with FORTRAN and/or C++.
- Proficiency in MCNP and familiarity with deterministic (ARDRA, BACCHUS, PARTISN, DENOVO) and stochastic particle transport tools (e.g., GEANT4, MERCURY, KENO).
- Proficient verbal and written communications skills necessary to author technical and scientific reports and publications and deliver scientific presentations.
- Initiative and interpersonal skills with desire and ability to work in a collaborative, multidisciplinary team environment.
Qualifications We Desire
- Experience with desktop graphical user interface (GUI) application development.
- Experience with continuous integration and development.
- Experience with gamma-ray spectral analysis and neutron and gamma-ray time correlation methods and analysis.
