- Ability to secure and maintain a U.S. DOE Q-level security clearance, which requires U.S. Citizenship.
- PhD in Physics, Astrophysics, Nuclear Engineering, or related field or the equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
- Significant experience with performing research and development in experimental science and/or algorithm development and ability to find innovative solutions to scientific and technical problems.
- Significant experience in developing software infrastructure for complex data analysis.
- Significant experience in the application of statistics, signal processing, and error propagation.
- Fluency in Python and experience with Java, C++, or other object-oriented programming language.
- Documented publication record in peer-reviewed literature with experience presenting research results to a large audience and proficient verbal and written communications skills necessary to author technical and scientific reports and publications and deliver scientific presentations.
- Initiative and interpersonal skills with desire and ability to work in a collaborative, multidisciplinary team environment.
Qualifications We Desire
- Experience with radiation measurement instruments, systems, and analysis, and in particular gamma-ray and/or neutron spectroscopy and imaging systems, neutron multiplicity, and Monte Carlo and/or deterministic radiation transport codes (e.g. MCNP, GEANT etc.).
- Proficient in principles of object-oriented programming and software development best practices and experience with software development tools and concepts such as version control, design-patterns, and continuous integration.
- Experience with machine learning and data analytics.
