Staff Research Scientist- Macroscopic Tokamak Modeling and Analysis
The Princeton Plasma Physics Laboratory seeks a talented scientist to support modeling and MHD analysis of macroscopic stability in tokamaks. The candidate will work with teammates a variety of projects and in the PPPL Theory and Computational Sciences departments to conduct linear and nonlinear MHD stability analysis, perform equilibrium reconstructions and scaling studies, and to assist in the development and deployment of analysis tools. Physics topics include, but are not limited to the linear stability and nonlinear saturation of ideal and resistive core and edge MHD instabilities. Understanding how these instabilities figure into the global and edge confinement properties of spherical tokamaks, and projecting this understanding to future facilities, including
