Department of Physics Research Assistant Professor(s) (Ref: 230000KA)
The Hong Kong Institute of Quantum Information Science and Technology, The Chinese University of Hong Kong invites applications for Research Assistant Professor position in the following directions.
1. Experimental diamond-based sensing. The applicants are expected to have experience in at least one of the following fields - quantum sensing, nanomagnetism, AFM, STM, magnetic resonance spectroscopy, condensed matter physics, bio-imaging and light-sheet microscopy.
2. Theory of quantum correlation spectroscopy, with applications to quantum sensing, detection of quantum many-body physics, and/or the test of quantum foundation.
3. Quantum many-body theory and numerical simulation of open quantum systems and applications in quantum information science.
4. Theoretical quantum optics focusing on superradiance laser/maser, Floquet laser/maser, and the effects of many-body correlations.
Salary will be commensurate with the applicant’s qualifications and experience.
Appointment will initially be made on contract basis for up to three years, renewable subject to performance and mutual agreement.
