St. Luke’s School, a secular, college-preparatory day school serving grades 5 through 12 in New Canaan, Connecticut, seeks a full-time teacher, primarily in the discipline of Physics, to join our Science Department. A successful candidate will join a team of passionate teachers who bring science to life for students. Our Science Department faculty are enthusiastic people who love teaching and learning, with two teachers each in the following disciplines: biology, chemistry, and physics. We pride ourselves on professionalism, collegiality, and the supportive, innovative environment that is conducive to exceptional teacher development.
Our science wing includes Harkness tables in each classroom, ample laboratory bench areas and state-of-the-art technologies, and the St. Luke’s designLab -- a 4000+ sq ft digital and physical fabrication lab and the home for design thinking, engineering, and computer science at St. Luke’s. Our Upper School Science curriculum includes multiple advanced courses, project-based learning units that take advantage of the designLab’s capabilities, as well as a capstone senior research project for our STEM Scholars.

Fellows have a two or three class course load and are a part of a robust cohort of creative, flexible, and high-energy early career teachers. With equal focus on teaching and learning the craft of teaching, this two-year program provides structured time during the day to plan, observe, and reflect. With our consistent and constructive feedback, generous professional development, academic technology support, and immersion in constructivist pedagogy, Fellows leave the St. Luke’s program as experienced and highly marketable educators.
