Assistant Professor for Applications of Data Science to Particle Accelerators (Tenure Track)
The Center for Accelerator Science at Old Dominion University (ODU) is seeking a new tenure track faculty member with research expertise and interests in the broad area of Applications of Data Science to Particle Accelerators. The successful applicant is expected to develop a research program in accelerator science using artificial intelligence (AI), machine learning (ML), or other aspects of data science to study topics such as accelerator design, advanced optimization and analysis of accelerators; large-scale and compute-intensive algorithms for accelerators; large-scale simulations of accelerator performance; and/or optimizing and improving computer software for accelerators.  Preference will be given to candidates whose research relates to understanding and i
