Postdoctoral Scholar
The Department of Physics & Astronomy at UCLA seeks outstanding candidates for a Postdoctoral Scholar position in the area of Plasma and Fusion Physics. The position will focus on experimental investigation of electromagnetic turbulence, non-axisymmetric 3-D effects associated with MHD and fast-ion instabilities as well as externally applied magnetic fields in high-performance tokamak plasmas.  In addition,  applications to plasma control and magnetic equilibrium reconstruction constraints will be explored. This work involves the development and application of a radial Faraday-effect polarimeter-interferometer diagnostic system designed to directly measure the internal magnetic field and perturbations.
