The Illinois Materials Research Science and Engineering Center (I-MRSEC) hosts an NSF-supported research experiences for undergraduates (REU) program that gives undergraduate students the chance to take part in challenging, meaningful interdisciplinary materials research. No lab experience required to apply, just enthusiasm for materials science! Potential research topics relate to magnetic materials, nanomaterials, sustainable energy, and plastics, with both experimental and computational projects available.
