Observational Astronomy with Space-based Instruments
The Florida State University (FSU) Physics Department invites applications for a tenure-track position at the Assistant (or Associate) Professor level, with a focus on optical to far-infrared space-based Observational Astronomy. The successful candidate is expected to lead a space-based observational program and take full advantage of major facilities such as NASA’s JWST and the upcoming Roman Space Telescope. The ideal candidate will add new expertise to the astrophysics group at FSU while connecting to existing strengths. The Astrophysics group at FSU is comprised of 7 faculty, 16 graduate students, and 50 undergraduate students. Its research program is focused on discovering the origin of the chemical elements, elucidating the nature of dark energy, and cosmology. Key expertis
