Los Alamos National Laboratory is a multidisciplinary research institution engaged in science and engineering on behalf of national security. We are looking for a driven Condensed Matter Physics Postdoc to join our National High Magnetic Field Laboratory (NHMFL) group at LANL in Los Alamos, NM. In this position, you will be expected to focus on one of the following topics: unconventional superconductivity, strongly correlated electron systems, topological materials, 2D materials and actinides. Examples of specific systems are cuprates, nickelates, heavy fermions, Weyl metals, topological Kondo insulators/semi-metals, quantum spin liquid candidates, 2D oxides and/or Pu. The successful candidate will work on a team to design instruments and experiments, record and analyze experimental data, interpret and publish the results and present the work at conferences.

Requirements:
Ph.D. in Theoretical Condensed Matter, Materials Physics or relevant field
An experimental background in one or more of the following areas: Experimental condensed matter physics in strong magnetic fields > 10 T, advanced sample preparation techniques such as focused ion beam lithography, unconventional superconductivity, strongly correlated electron systems, topological materials, 2D materials or actinides
Strong written and verbal communication skills, as evidenced by publications, presentations, a cover letter and references
Experience with LabVIEW, MatLab or Mathematica programming preferred
