Piedmont College located in Demorest and Athens, Georgia, is seeking candidates for the position of Assistant Professor of Physics to begin on August 1, 2020. This is a full time, 9-month, non-tenure track position with teaching responsibilities on the Demorest campus.
Summary Description: The Piedmont College of Arts and Sciences is seeking a qualified individual to serve as full-time Faculty for our Physics Program and provide:
Effective classroom teaching in all levels of Physics – in general physics and labs as well as in an area of interest or expertise;
Direction for students in undergraduate research;
Advisement to students in Pre-engineering and Physics;
Scholarly development appropriate to a small private liberal arts college; and
Service responsibilities to the department, school, college and community;
PhD in Physics or a related field
Use of, or familiarity with, active learning strategies and student-centered policies
Strong desire to do undergraduate research with majors
