Postdoctoral position in experimental plasma turbulence
The turbulence spectroscopy group in the Department of Engineering Physics at the University of Wisconsin seeks applicants for one postdoctoral researcher position to develop and operate turbulence spectroscopy diagnostic systems and carry out an experimental program at the DIII-D National Fusion Facility in plasma turbulence and instability analysis to advance the scientific basis for magnetic fusion energy. The research topics include but are not limited to core, pedestal and SOL turbulence and transport. The postdoc appointee will contribute to diagnostic activities such as 2D Beam Emission Spectroscopy (BES), Charge Exchange Imaging (CXI), Ultra-Fast Charge Exchange Spectroscopy (UF-CHERS), and Spatial Heterodyne Spectroscopy (SHS).
