Postdoctoral Researcher in Fusion Plasma Physics
The Plasma Diagnostics Group in the UCLA Department of Physics and Astronomy is seeking applications for a (full-time) Postdoctoral Researcher In the area of Plasma Physics/Fusion Research. This position will be primarily focused on simulation/modeling work to elucidate the physics of the low to high confinement mode (L- to H-mode) transition, a crucial topic in fusion research. The primary goal is to support development of a physics-based, reduced L-H transition model. Close connection to experimental research on L-H transition physics carried out in parallel on the DIII-D tokamak is essential, and some participation in experiments on L-H transition physics, in collaboration with the DIII-D team is desired. Tasks will include analysis of kinetic profile and turbulence data and validati
