Tokamak Edge Modeling and Comparison with Experimental Data - Postdoctoral Researcher
We have an opening for a Postdoctoral Researcher in the field of plasma physics, working on modeling of the edge and divertor of a tokamak plasma. The research aims to develop a predictive understanding of tokamak edge and divertor physics for ITER and fusion pilot plants (FPPs). This will be done by performing simulations with the UEDGE edge plasma code and comparing these with experimental data from existing tokamaks, particularly DIII-D at General Atomics. The UEDGE and other edge codes will also be used to guide the design of future tokamak divertors on DIII-D, ITER, and FPPs. This position is in the DIII-D Collaboration Group, Fusion Energy Program of the Physics Division. The job location can be either LLNL or DIII-D in San Diego. In this role yo
