Theoretical/Computational Atomic and/or Plasma Physicist in High Energy Density Physics
The Radiation Hydrodynamics Branch at the Naval Research Laboratory in Washington, DC has been actively investigating Z-pinch dynamics, laser-target interactions and ICF, and radiation source development for over three decades. The research in the Branch is focused on: (i) Atomic physics and non-LTE ionization kinetics (ii) Methods and applications of radiation transport (iii) Synthetic spectra and spectroscopic analysis in optically transitioning conditions, and (iv) Simulations of multi-dimensional, resistive MHD and laser-driven implosions For this current position, the Radiation Hydrodynamics Branch is interested in candidates who can initiate research in
