Computational physicists for laser fusion research
Scientists in the Laser Plasma Branch at the US Naval Research Laboratory (NRL) conduct research in laser-driven radiation hydrodynamics, high-intensity laser–matter interactions, and the advancement of high-energy next-generation laser technology in support of the Department of Energy's NNSA Inertial Fusion Confinement Fusion (ICF) program, OFES, and ARPA-E.  NRL collaborates in code and diagnostic development with scientists at other ICF laboratories. Basic experiments in hydrodynamic instabilities, high-pressure shock physics and laser-plasma instabilities are conducted using the NRL 3 kJ Nike KrF laser as well as facilities at other ICF laboratories. We have a need for computational physicists to join the NRL laser fusion team. We are looking for candidates with experience in
