Software Developer for Nuclear Detection and Assessment
We have an opening in the Nuclear Security Physics Group in the Nuclear and Chemical Sciences division for a nuclear engineer/physicist to work on user-friendly software applications for radiation transport and detector response for the emergency response community. This work leverages knowledge of simulation tools written in Fortran and C/C++ to write Python wrappers around them for ease of use. Development of GUI frameworks (e.g. Qt/GTK) are also beneficial for these applications. This work will support the Nuclear Emergency Response Program and Nuclear Non-Proliferation programs at LLNL.In this role you will Collaborate with other scientists and technical personnel in radiation detection for nonproliferation and nuclear security applica
